Phoenix Rising care kits to benefit children impacted by sex trafficking

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Phoenix Rising, a local nonprofit, is asking for help to make a difference for children impacted by sex trafficking.

The nonprofit is gathering donations for its Care Kits for Kids program. Each year, it fills duffel bags with items, such as winter gloves, hats, personal hygiene products, snacks, educational materials, activities, a blanket, a teddy bear and more.

These duffel bags are distributed to local children in foster care as well as those that live in state-run group homes.

Here are ways to get involved:

• Shop for needed items at the Walmart Spark Good Registry – 2025 Care Kits for Kids that is available by scanning the QR code below.
• Donate, and Phoenix Rising will do the shopping. You can give via Paypal (@werprky) or Venmo (@Werprky) or mail a check to Phoenix Rising, P.O. Box 50830, Bowling Green, KY 42102-4140.
• Join Phoenix Rising on Dec. 6 to help assemble the care kits.
