Pedestrian killed in McCreary County vehicle accident

WHITLEY CITY, Ky. – Police say a man died after being struck by a vehicle in McCreary County.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, the Kentucky State Police Post 11 responded to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

The accident happened on U.S. 27 North near KY 3253 College St.

Troopers arrived to the scene, where KSP says an investigation showed Kenneth L. Troxell, 35, of Somerset was walking on U.S. 27 when a 2005 red Chevy pickup hit him near the fog line of the southbound lane.

McCreary County EMS transported Troxell to a Scott County, Tennessee hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

KSP says the driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
