Pawty with a Purpose hosted by Logan County animal groups to benefit each other
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Three animal organizations are coming together in Logan County to host a fundraiser benefitting each other, as they look to Pawty with a Purpose.
“We are coming together to help raise money. All the money is going to go right back into Logan County animals to help with spays, neuters, increase adoptions… help the organizations kind of run with their day to day,” Amanda Castile, co-founder of Spayed and Aid of Kentucky, says.
The event takes place Saturday at Haley Auctions and Realty in Russellville, and will feature activities for both kids and adults, including puppy petting zoos, agility courses for the dogs and much more.
The Logan County Animal Shelter is excited to show togetherness between the three groups.
“It shows a huge step forward for Logan County and Russellville, showing that the rescues in town can actually work together… and for the greater good of the animals that we’re actually caring for,” director Aric Tousignant says.
For Spayed and Aid, it’s about their love for the community.
“For us to be able to host this event kind of as a community event, but also to help out our organizations… I feel that it’s really important because even if you take all the organizations and separate them, at the end of the day, it’s all for the same cause. You want less animals in the shelter, you want less animals roaming the streets, you want to help increase the adoptions… and right now, everybody knows that across the country, everybody’s struggling. So for us to be able to come together and support because we all have the same end goal, I think it’s really important… and to show the community that we can all support each other and we can help each other,” Castile says.
Southern Paws Animal Rescue is in it for their love of the animals.
“It’s really cool that everyone working together is all kind of in it for the same thing. We’re all in it to save as many animals as we can, to kind of do what’s best for the animals and put everything else aside, emotions aside and just do what’s best for them,” president Kali Remington says.
The event takes place Saturday, September 6th from 10 AM to 2 PM, with proceeds going to all three organizations.
Haley Auctions and Realty is on the corner of US-68 and Concord Road.
