Paradise Point Marketplace celebrates 20 years in Allen County
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A local favorite business is celebrating 20 years of fun in paradise.
Paradise Point Marketplace is a boutique, restaurant and gift shop all in one near Barren River Lake in Scottsville.
It all started with John Erskine, who drove to the lake and saw an old restaurant for sale.
On a whim, he decided to buy the building… and 20 years later, he and his wife Sebrina have a place where people can have a little fun for a while.
“At a time when I think our world is not so fun all the time, there’s got to be some fun places left… and so our goal is that every person who comes in… when they leave, they’ll feel happier than when they arrived,” Sebrina, who is a co-owner of Paradise Point, says.
Sebrina says her 30-year-old son was just 10 when they opened the store, and she wouldn’t know how many years they’ve been around without him.
The store will be holding their official 20th anniversary celebration Saturday, where the 2024 shirt design will be revealed as well as a special surprise Sebrina has put together for John.
