Pack the Pantry asking for non perishable items to help community

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Pack the Pantry kicks off this Saturday morning at Kroger on Campbell Lane, presented by Personal Touch Lawn Care, Hotel Inc., and Hope House.

The partners are asking for non-perishable food items, clothing and other essentials to help families in and around the Bowling Green area.

They believe now more than ever that the community has to pull together in this difficult time to ensure that no one in the area goes without the basic comforts of life.

James Greer, owner of Personal Touch Lawn Care, says why this event is important to him.

“We felt like it was our Christian duty to do so. We’ve always done things in the past, probably nothing as big as what we’re trying to do now with this. We’re trying to help everyone come back from a bad year. We’ve been in business for 20 years and Bowling Green has been nothing but good to us from start to now,” said Greer.

Greer is also hoping for a large turnout of items.

“I hope I’m having to rent box trucks to haul all this stuff to where it needs to go, I really do. We’ve got our 24 foot box trailer emptied out and ready to be filled. And I hope I’m filling every trailer I have in the building,” said Greer.

Some of the items people can donate include peanut butter, spaghetti noodles and sauce, hand warmers, socks and unopened toiletries.
