Owensboro facility that produces nicotine pouches to add 450 jobs to area

OWNESBORO, Ky. – An Owensboro facility is expanding, adding 450 new jobs with a $232 investment, according to Gov. Andy Beshear on Tuesday.
The governor announced Swedish Match is growing its presence, making this the fifth largest investment project supported by the state this year. New jobs to expect will include engineers, production staff, technicians and quality control, the governor’s office says.
“I’m excited to see this incredible new investment and the 450 great job opportunities it is creating for families in Owensboro and the surrounding region,” Beshear said. “Our economy continues to set records, and today’s announcement shows we’re bringing jobs to our people instead of making our people move to the jobs. I want to thank and congratulate company leadership for doubling down here in the Commonwealth and look forward to many more years of prosperity.”
The facility produces Swedish Match ZYN nicotine pouches, with the expansion allowing the company to meet a growing global demand for smoke-free products, according to a release by the governor’s office.
The release says this will also allow for 24/7 production later this year.
Construction on the expanded facility has already begun with completion expected by quarter two in 2025.
