Over 800 Farmers RECC Customers without power
GLASGOW, Ky.- Right now, Farmers RECC reports that they currently have approximately 854 members without power. This is down from 2,100 outages at the height of the outage event.
The organization says that crews have made significant headway since storms began and are expecting to see more progress as daylight hours reveal the extent of the damage. Crews report that work has been complicated by the saturated ground, downed trees, and debris. Farmers RECC does not expect complete power restoration until Friday, barring any unforeseen complications. Members who have electricity dependent medical or other equipment will need to make alternate plans.
Farmers RECC shared that they know this isn’t the news anyone wants to hear, but their crews will continue to work diligently until each and every one of their members are restored.
Farmers RECC says they currently has contracted construction and right-of-way crews on site, with additional crews from Nolin RECC assisting with restoration.
Farmers RECC reminds its members to stay away from fallen power lines. Always assume that any line is conducting electricity. In addition, if you are using a power generator, make sure you are doing so safely. For more safety information, visit their website at farmersrecc.com/outages.
