Over 500 pumpkin carved for Halloween by Lexington community members
LEXINGTON, Ky.- Transylvania University got into the Halloween spirit this week with a “PumpkinMania” event, showcasing carved-out pumpkins from the Lexington community. It is a tradition planted 14 years ago.
Volunteers cut up about 500 pumpkins, and everyone from all skill levels were welcome. After Halloween, the pumpkins will be used as feed for livestock in the area. On Friday, Nov. 1, the pumpkins will be collected by local farmers.
The PumpkinMania display was lit for five nights from Oct. 27‑31.
