Green Sprouts is recalling roughly 10,500 of its stainless steel straw bottles, sippy cups and sip and straw cups.

The firm has received seven reports of incidents of the bottles’ base breaking off, exposing the solder dot that contains lead. This issue poses a lead poisoning hazard to children.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the recall made on Nov. 23 involves 6 ounce and 8 ounce varieties of the cups.

Consumers should check the bottom of the base for tracking numbers 29218V06985, 35719V06985, and 33020V06985, which are affected by the recall.

Buy Buy Baby, Whole Foods and Amazon sold the products nationwide, as well as Bed, Bath & Beyond’s website, from Jan. 2020 through Sept. 2022 for between $14 and $19.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled stainless steel bottles and cups away from children and discard the bottles and cups.

You may contact Green Sprouts for a full refund in the form of store credit or your money back. Green Sprouts is also contacting all known purchasers directly, according to the firm.
