Orchestra Kentucky announces 2019-2020 schedule

Celebrating the organization's 20th season in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Today, Orchestra Kentucky announced details of the 2019-20 season  — its 20th since being founded in 2000.

Orchestra Kentucky’s 20th Season will have five Retro and five Variety series concerts.

Highlights include an appearance by soft rock super group Air Supply, celebrations of Woodstock, the Music Man, and the Beatles’ “Abbey Road,” tributes to Paul Simon, Nat King Cole, and the music of Memphis, and the return of the J.C. Kirby & Son Christmas Spectacular.

Several season ticket packages – including an option to receive four free concerts – are on sale now. Details are available at Orchestra Kentucky.com and packages may be purchased by calling the Orchestra Kentucky administrative offices at (270) 846-2426 open 9am to 5pm weekdays.

The new season begins May 11th of 2019 at SKyPAC with an appearance by soft rock legends Air Supply.  Tickets to this special event are on sale exclusively to Orchestra Kentucky subscribers through March 1st.  As a bonus, when the full season is purchased by the March 1st deadline, subscribers receive a free ticket (per subscription) to Air Supply. That’s the equivalent of 5 free concerts!

“Though promotional materials credit me as the founder, the generosity of Orchestra Kentucky’s Board of Directors, sponsors, and donors – and the passionate support of our patrons throughout the region – is what has sustained this organization for two decades” said Music Director Jeff Reed.  “I can never fully repay them.  All I can do is program the best season possible to honor their extraordinary commitment.”

Orchestra Kentucky Executive Director Scott Watkins notes, “I can’t think of another performing arts organization that has made a bigger impact in its community in such a short period of time.  In 20 years Orchestra Kentucky has gone from performing chamber music in churches to – arguably – the catalyst for a state of the art performing arts center.  It’s an amazing story, and I’m proud to be part of it.”
