Operation PRIDE holds flag raising at Warren Elementary
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- On Friday, Operation Pride held another flag raising ceremony at Warren Elementary as part of its Beautifi-65 Project.
The nonprofit organization raised a new 30- by 60-foot American Flag along the expressway at the elementary school, hoping to catch the eye of drivers and encourage more people to visit Bowling Green.
Veterans in attendance were recognized for their service and role for protecting our country with a round of applause from Warren Elementary students and faculty.
Students and teachers at the school practiced all week for the ceremony as they sang songs, such as “America The Beautiful” and the national anthem, to honor the flag being raised.
When asked about the ceremony, Warren Elementary principal Josh Porter stated, “I believe every student across our country needs this experience. What a way to show who you are, where you’re from, and what this flag means to you. And so every school I wish could have that opportunity if we had do.”
