Operation P.R.I.D.E. continues the mission to beautify I-65 and honor supporters
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Operation P.R.I.D.E. is continuing its mission to beautify Bowling Green and Warren County.
This week, a special ceremony honored retired Marine Malcom Cherry with the General Dan Cherry Award.
The award recognized Cherry’s land donation for flag displays and his unwavering dedication to community service. A ribbon-cutting event marked the occasion, followed by the raising of the American flag to celebrate local economic and tourism growth.
For Cherry, however, the project’s meaning goes far beyond civic development.
“This flag represents everything that the military stands for,” he said, emphasizing a veteran’s lifelong commitment to the Constitution.
With Memorial Day weekend approaching, the event also served as a tribute to fallen service members.
“They need to honor Memorial Day,” Cherry added, “and it’s greatly appreciated.”
