EDMONTON, Ky. – Metcalfe County High School celebrated its fourth annual Operation Hornet Hoodies on Wednesday, where every student was gifted a new MCHS hooded sweatshirt.

According to the district, students in this year’s senior class were the first to receive the hoodies in 2022, when they were freshmen, thanks to generous donations made by community sponsors.

Operation Hornet Hoodies reminds students that they are valued members of our Hornet family and the Metcalfe County community, the district says. It also provides them with something new and warm to wear at Christmas time.

“On behalf of Metcalfe County High School, I want to extend a massive thank you to our incredible community sponsors for their generosity in providing Hornet Hoodies for every single student,” principal Joseph Eaton said. “Seeing our hallways filled with school pride is a direct result of your support. You haven’t just provided a piece of clothing, you’ve fostered a sense of belonging and unity across our entire campus. Thank you for investing in our kids and showing us your Hornet Hustle!”

Community sponsors were invited to MCHS to personally hand out the hoodies during a special celebration. Metcalfe County Schools says it thanks the following donors:
