Only 3 days left to sign up for Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-The holiday season is already upon us, and The Salvation Army of Bowling Green is currently helping families in need prepare for Christmas.

Salvation Army has been accepting applications for this year’s Angel Tree Program since October 25th, and there are only three days left for families to apply.

The program helps provide Christmas gifts such as winter clothes, toys and other necessities to young children who come from disadvantaged families.

In order to qualify, applicants must provide proof of income and expenses, as well as have a photo ID and documents to verify the children in their household.

The residential manager at The Salvation Army of Bowling Green explains why the Angel Program is so important.

”When you don’t have the finances to make it through the month as it is, when Christmas time rolls around panic starts to set in. You  start wondering how you’re going to provide for your kids. How you’re going to put presents under the tree. That’s kind of where Angel Tree comes in,” said Heather Ryan.

The last day to apply for the Angel Program is Friday, November 1st.

Applications are being accepted at the Fellowship Hall at the Salvation Army Church from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
