One man stabbed, 2 arrested

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man was taken to the hospital after police say two men stabbed him in the abdomen early this morning.

Police had both 32-year-old Melvin McCathren and Frankie Rogers in custody in connection with the stabbing in just over two hours.

Early this morning, police were called to an apartment on Parkside Drive with reports of a stabbing.

When police arrived, the victim, Joshua McCarty, told police McCathren and Rogers had jumped and stabbed him, according to police.

According to Bowling Green Police Officer Ronnie Ward, the incident occurred after an argument over a woman.

According to the citation, both men charged changed their stories to police several times.

McCathren and Rogers were both charged with first-degree assault and were lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.

As of early Wednesday morning, McCarty was in stable condition at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
