One injured, one killed in Allen County wreck

ADOLPHUS, Ky. – An Allen County man was killed and a Tennessee man was injured following a two-vehicle collision in the Adelphi’s community Thursday afternoon.

Kentucky State Police Post 3 responded to a two-vehicle fatal collision just after 4:30 pm.  The collision occurred on U.S. 31-E in the Adolphus community of Allen County.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Luther Tuttle Jr., 75, of Adolphus was operating a Lincoln Town Car southbound on U.S. 31-E near the intersection of Carter Church Road.  A Toyota Tacoma being driven by Robert Dyer, 69, of Nashville, was traveling northbound on U.S. 31-E in the same area.  Tuttle’s vehicle crossed the center dividing line and entered into the northbound lane of travel, striking Dyer’s vehicle, according to a release from state police.

Tuttle was pronounced deceased by the Allen County Coroner.  Dyer was flown by Air Evac to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of injuries sustained.

The investigation is ongoing.
