One dead, one injured in Sunday afternoon shooting

ROCKFIELD, Ky. – A 74-year-old man was killed and his son injured in a shooting Sunday afternoon at 995 block of Galloway’s Mill Road.

Kentucky State Police were called to the scene early Sunday afternoon, KSP Post 3 spokesman Daniel Priddy said.

Minutes later police and emergency medical services responded to an area near Interstate 165 and Russellville Road where someone was taken from a pick up truck and placed into an ambulance.

Police followed the ambulance.

Daniel W. Moore, 37, of Greensburg and Bradley E. Heard, 35, of Rockfield were involved in an altercation, according to a release from KSP.

The incident resulted in Moore receiving a knife wound. Moore, who police said was armed with a handgun, is accused of firing multiple rounds striking Bradley Heard and his father, Russell Heard of Rockfield, according to the release.

The Warren County Coroner’s Office pronounced Russell Heard deceased at the scene.

Bradley Heard was taken to The Medical Center at Bowling Green with gunshot wounds.

Daniel Moore was located in a red Ford Ranger on Russellville Road near Interstate 165 by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, where he was then taken by ambulance to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for his injuries.

Daniel Moore was released from the hospital and is charged with first-degree manslaughter, according to the release. He will be lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.

Bradley Heard was listed in critical but stable condition early Sunday night, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing and being led by the Kentucky State Police.
