One dead, one injured in Edmonson ATV crash

MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – One person died and another was injured in a Sunday morning ATV collision in Edmonson County.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 3 troopers responded to a call of an ATV fatal collision at 5410 Nolin Dam Road at the Blue Holler Off-Road Park in Edmonson County.

Adam Jones, 30, of Fairdale, Ky, was operating 2020 Polaris RZR on an unlit trail in the Blue Hollar Off-Road Park, KSP said in a release. A preliminary investigation shows Jones lost control of his vehicle causing it to exit the trail and overturn several times. Jones along with a passenger in the vehicle, Lukas F. McCoy, 22, also of Fairdale, were ejected from the ATV.

The Edmonson County Coroner pronounced Jones deceased at the scene. McCoy was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was listed Sunday in stable condition. A third passenger in the vehicle Megan Hayden, 22, of Pleasureville, Ky. was not injured.
