Omega Psi Phi honors Chris Page with Citizen of the Year Award
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This week marks an important week for one national fraternity.
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity is recognizing one of Bowling Green’s leaders for his contributions to the community.
The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity is an organizational brotherhood consisting of 750 chapters throughout the world.
The fraternity is currently recognizing its International Achievement Week.
During this time, the fraternity honors 10 individuals with 10 different awards.
One of those awards is Citizen of the Year.
Chris Page, head barber at Shake Rag Barbershop, had no idea he would receive the award.
However, his fraternity brother David Clement quickly changed that by telling him he’s a finalist.
On Monday evening, Page would learn he is the recipient when founding members presented him the award.
The award recognizes an outstanding citizen for their unusual contributions to humanity.
However, Page wants the community to know his work is far from done.
Page also tells us he hopes this award sends a message to the youth.
That what they do in their community doesn’t always have to be negative but can instead inspire others.
