Ohio County man indicted on illegal firearm possession charges

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An Ohio County man has been formally charged for illegal possession of a firearm.

On Dec. 12, Christopher Phillip Saunders, 29, possessed several firearms and ammunition despite previously being convicted of felony offenses, according to the United States Attorney’s Office, Western District of Kentucky.

Saunders was convicted of drug possession and theft in August, as well as second-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal mischief in July 2022, officials state.

Saunders was arraigned Thursday, April 4.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
