Officer Matt Davis is ‘recovering’ and doing better in latest update

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – During Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting, Bowling Green city manager Jeff Meisel provided an update on officer Matt Davis.

Meisel says Davis is doing a lot better while he recovers in Nashville after “six or seven surgeries.” He says Davis has also been moved out of the intensive care unit to a rehab type of unit.

Davis has been undergoing treatment after a shooting Thursday, July 6 off of Russellville Road. Further details surrounding the shooting investigation have not been released.

“I appreciate all of the prayers from everyone around Bowling Green and Warren County,” Meisel says. Meisel also says the event last Thursday to raise funds for Davis was “incredible.”

“Matt is one tough dude,” Meisel says.

He encouraged the community to keep lifting up the Davis family and to keep Davis in their thoughts and prayers.
