OB-GYN’s are leaving states that restrict abortion, according to a new study

OB-GYNs are leaving states that restrict abortion rights. Research published in JAMA found a 4% drop in obstetricians and gynecologists in the states with the most restrictive abortion laws. This potentially means worse reproductive care access and quality for women living in those states.

The study further states that despite increasing concerns that states with highly restrictive abortion laws may experience workforce losses due to the legal and ethical ramifications of clinical decision-making, there has been no empirical analysis of these outcomes.
