NWS: EF0 Tornado confirmed in Butler County

BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. (WNKY) – The National Weather Service confirmed an EF0 tornado touched down Friday evening in Butler County during a round of severe weather that moved across south-central Kentucky.
According to a damage survey released Saturday by the National Weather Service, the tornado developed around 8:02 p.m. EDT just north of Youngtown and remained on the ground for roughly one minute before lifting at 8:03 p.m.
Survey crews estimated peak winds at 85 miles per hour. The tornado traveled about 0.32 miles with a maximum width of 30 yards.
No fatalities or injuries were reported.
The tornado’s path began about one mile north of Youngtown and ended about two miles northeast of the community.
The survey classified the tornado as an EF0 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, the lowest rating on the scale, which includes estimated wind speeds between 65 and 85 mph.
