Nursing homes restrict visitors to prevent the spread of COVID-19

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Governor Beshear announced recently that state nursing and long-term care facilities will restrict visitation and strongly urged all senior care and long-term care facilities to take similar action to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Locally, Charter Senior Living facility is requiring a screening for all visitors.

Those who enter the building have to fill out a questionnaire and have their temperatures checked.

All associates have their temperatures taken prior to each shift.

The facility will also limit resident outings and group events.

The State Board of Elections also requested all County Boards of Election relocate polling places currently located in senior care facilities and/or senior community centers to more suitable sites.
