Nominations being taken for county schools’ Hall of Distinguished Alumni
Nominations are now being taken for induction into the Warren County Public Schools Hall of Distinguished Alumni.
“The Hall of Distinguished Alumni in Warren County Schools is the opportunity to recognize some of our very finest graduates,” schools superintendent Rob Clayton said. “It’s become a tradition of our school system.”
Nominees will be considered for induction into the 2019 group. There are already more than 60 members of the Hall of Distinguished Alumni.
After the nominations are submitted, a committee will go over the nominees and make a selection. The nominees will be honored during an April 26 ceremony. Nominations will be taken through Dec. 31.
“We have some amazing graduates, and they have gone on to distinguish themselves in a variety of careers,” Clayton said.
After being inducted, pictures of the newest members will be placed in the central office and after one year, those pictures will be moved to the schools in which the honorees graduated.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that when students walk the halls and they see these former graduates who have gone on to distinguish themselves, I think it serves as great motivation for many of our students,” Clayton said. “It certainly serves as role models, something they can aspire to do.
“One of the great things about public education is the fact that not only do we try to level the playing field for all of our students, but we want them to see that they can achieve great things,” he said.
Nomination forms are available at www.warrencountyschools.org, at the central office on Lovers Lane and at each county school.
