No cash, no problem: Salvation Army rolls out new donation program
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – We’ve all heard the jingle, and the red kettles that signify the spirit of giving around Christmas time.
Traditionally, The Salvation Army has relied on bell-ringers and cash-givers to raise 10% of it’s annual fundraising during the Christmas season.
This year, it’s a little bit different. The bells haven’t changed, but rather the different ways you can give.
Gone are the days of just dropping in some change. For the first time ever, the Salvation Army is offering Apple and Google Pay to donors as an easier, modernized way to give…
That means gone are those excuses of the past said Captain Michael Cox, Core Officer at the Salvation Army of Bowling Green.
“For folks who always come up to us and said ‘hey, I don’t have the cash,’ we’ve given them another opportunity to give should they want to give to the Salvation Army,” Cox said.
You can visit one of the red kettle sites at any of the Walmart or Kroger locations in Bowling Green, or donate online by clicking here.
