New York woman arrested after vehicle pursuit in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A New York woman is facing multiple charges after a vehicle pursuit lasted roughly 35 miles in Bowling Green on Thursday.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police was dispatched around 10:17 p.m. to locate a 2024 Black Toyota 4-Runner.
Troopers say the vehicle was rented out of New York Thursday morning.
The subjects traveled into middle Tennessee and had been shoplifting that day, according to troopers.
Authorities say they were told the female driver, identified as Nimora Kincaid, 44, of Rochester, New York, had multiple warrants out of state and resisting charges, along with felony charges out of Brentwood, Tennessee.
The vehicle was heading northbound on Interstate 65 near the state line.
Troopers say they stopped the vehicle at the 25.6 mile marker. During this time, troopers say they approached the vehicle and spoke to driver, asking her to exit the vehicle multiple times.
When the driver did not exit the vehicle, authorities say a trooper reached inside and grabbed the driver’s arm.
Kincaid then drove away, fleeing from the traffic stop, authorities say.
Troopers say this action put them at risk of serious physical injury.
A vehicle pursuit followed on the interstate and reached speeds up to 120 miles per hour, troopers say, with the operator driving in a careless manner and endangering other drivers.
Kincaid also turned all of the vehicle’s lights off multiple times, authorities say.
Eventually, troopers say KSP at the 58 mile marker northbound were able to use a tire deflation device on the vehicle, which caused it to slow.
The vehicle then traveled through a rest area before running off the road into an embankment, authorities say.
The operator and a passenger were taken into custody without further incident.
Kincaid stated she was not aware of the warrants and would not provide information about items in the vehicle, according to authorities.
The uniform citation states items that matched a list of those shoplifted were found in the vehicle and were valued at around $4,700.
The vehicle also sustained damage suspected to be over $1,000.
Kincaid was transported to the Warren County Detention Center. She is charged with speeding 26 miles per hour or greater over the speed limit, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), first-degree wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property between $1,000 and $10,000, reckless driving, failure to illuminate head lamps, resisting arrest and first-degree criminal mischief.
The passenger was transported to the Hart County Jail on separate charges.
