New subdivision coming to Plano, perhaps

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County Fiscal Court heard an appeal today about a new subdivision that is hoping to be built on 71 acres of land in Plano.

Plano residents approached the podium one by one to air grievances concerning this new development to which they said is potentially dangerous and damaging to the historic nature of Warren County. Opposition from residents acknowledged that much of Warren County sits on karst and sinkholes can open up at a moments notice, with one resident saying she believes there to be around 15 sinkholes on the property that the development would be built.

According to one of the residents, a professor at Western Kentucky University, there are relics of the civil war in the caves that lie beneath the area.

Judy Schwank, a resident who took the time to speak to the station, said there is an endangered species of worm in the caves. In conclusion to her interview she said she would continue to fight the issue until “someone listens to the truth” of what she and the rest of the residents in relation to the 65 new houses that could potentially populate.
