New projects from Warren County Fiscal Court include road widening, new storm shelter
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – During Thursday’s Fiscal Court meeting, some new developments were furthered here in Warren County.
First is the widening of Three Springs Road near the Aviation Heritage Park, which many citizens know is a one lane road on both sides.
However, the process has begun to make that into a two lane road, with judge executive Doug Gorman saying utility easements have begun to get this process underway.
The main need for this widening is of course the high traffic volume out there, with the judge saying this is going to be a huge benefit for the county.
“Of course, we have tremendous growth out Three Springs Road. A lot of traffic, lots of subdivisions out there, but that progress and that construction will start soon, and so we’ll start to see that and hopefully, while it might be a little difficult during construction, it’ll be a great thing when it’s finished,” Gorman says.
Another project in the works is a storm shelter connected to the Hadley Community Center.
Gorman says this is just the latest of a huge investment in the county to make sure everyone can stay safe during severe weather.
“We continue to invest in the storm shelters and safe areas for the weather that we’re having, and so we’re excited about that. We did get that approved, and we’re going to start to work toward the plans and drawing that up to move forward out there at Hadley,” Gorman says.
