New principal named for Chandler’s School in Logan County

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Chandler’s School is excited to announce BobbiSue Holmes has been selected as the new principal of Chandler’s School.
The decision was made at Chandler’s School by the Chandler’s Site-Based Decision Making Council on Thursday, April 18, according to the school. Holmes was welcomed to Chandler’s School and introduced to staff at an after-school meeting on Friday, April 19.
Holmes is currently the district counselor at Glasgow Independent Schools. She has 21 years of experience in education, with 11 years of teaching experience across several grade levels. She was previously principal at South Green Elementary School in Glasgow. She has also served as a school counselor and the dean of students at Cumberland Trace Elementary School in Bowling Green, the school states.
“I am so excited to be here,” Holmes said as she met with Chandler’s staff Friday. “To share from Pablo Picasso, ‘The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.’ We are here to help our students find their gifts and become the people they are meant to be. I am so grateful to be here to support as we serve our students and our community.”
Holmes is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with her master’s in K-12 school counseling. She has earned her bachelor’s in elementary education, rank I in mental health and principal license from Western Kentucky University.
“We are excited to welcome BobbiSue Holmes as the new Chandler’s School principal,” superintendent Dr. Dan Costellow said. “Ms. Holmes brings to Logan County and Chandler’s School a wealth of successful experience and knowledge. She is the right person at the right time to lead our students and staff toward greater success. I appreciate the input that our school community provided to our SBDM Council, and for the Council’s diligence and dedication throughout this process.”
Chandler’s School extends a big thank you to Jennifer Jenkins for stepping in as interim principal at Chandler’s this spring.
Jenkins will continue to serve as principal through the end of the school year. Holmes will officially begin her principal duties on July 1.
