New plan to address workforce shortages in south central Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A plan is in the works to find out how the South Central Kentucky community can address labor shortages.

The South Central Workforce Development Board is in the early stages of developing their strategic plan for 2019 and 2020.

The plan is currently in draft form, according to Jon Sowards, the board’s vice president of operations and special projects.

The strategic plan will show a compilation of data and statistics and detail how the business, education and nonprofit communities can come together and address the shortages.

The plan, which has been in the works for about a month now, will be completed sometime before July 1.
