New park planned for Shake Rag
BOWLING GREEN Ky.-A new park is in the works for Bowling Green’s Shake Rag Community.
The Shake Rag park will be located at the corner of 3rd and College street within the historic Shake Rag district.
Bowling Green Parks and Recreation director Brent Belcher said this project has been in the works for a long time now.
The park will include a shelter that can be used for special events or rented out for personal events.
Belcher said a goal of this project is to have another area for people to use for recreation.
“Now would be a great opportunity to kind of improve the link from between downtown Fountain Square Park, Circus Square Park to our parks and recreation office down to River Walk Park. We think this will be another link to that,” Belcher said.
An open house for the park project will be held this from 5:30 tp 7 pm. Feb. 19 at the George Washington Carver Center at 201 state street.
