New medical research facility comes to Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- An education and research facility in Bowling Green promises to advance medicine and improve patient health in the region.

The grand opening of the new space took place Friday morning at the Western Kentucky Heart, Lung and Gastroenterology Associates building at 421 U.S. 31-W By-Pass.

Dr. Mohammed Kazimuddin spoke at the ceremony about his dream, nearly 17 years in the making, to create an environment for collaborative and quality research here in Bowling Green.

Medical professionals and community leaders attended the grand opening and got a first look at the brand-new space.

The new facility has the latest in cardiology testing equipment, brand new patient rooms and a 250-seat auditorium for research symposiums, training opportunities and community events.

“That’s my intention to provide good care, quality care, bring new innovation technology to the town. I think it’s really progressing very well. Bowling Green is growing. It has become a town with high quality physicians, and I’m so proud of this,” Kazimuddin said.

Kazimuddin first partnered with Med Center Health in 2015, to start the WKHL Research Foundation and Educational Trust.
