New manufacturing company will create 200 new jobs

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A new company is making its way to Bowling Green, opening a new operation and investing $7.6 million.

On Thursday, Governor Andy Beshear announced the new opening of a Material Handling Systems (MHS) location that will create 200 new jobs.

“MHS got its start right here in the Commonwealth more than 20 years ago and I’m proud to see the company grow its presence in our state and continue to create job opportunities for Kentuckians,” said Beshear.

The primary operations in this facility will be to manufacture supporting steel structures for conveyor and sortation systems.

The average compensation for employees is $22.50 per hour.

MHS chose Bowling Green because of its proximity, workforce, and dedication to manufacturing. They will be leasing a 181,000 sq. ft. facility on Willamette Lane.

“Community is important to MHS. When we locate to a community, whether it’s in Bowling Green, Kentucky or Halton in the Netherlands, we consider it part of our new home. We want to be connected, we want to be a good partner and a corporate citizen to our new home,” said CEO Scott McReynolds.

The total economic impact of the project will be $327.4 million over the next ten years.
