New geocaching sites added in local parks

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green Parks and Recreation has teamed up with Warren County Parks and Rec. and Glasgow Parks and Rec. to provide new geocaching locations in our local parks.

A few of the local parks with geocaching include Fort Webb Park, Reservoir Hill, the Loops at Lovers Lane and Kereiakes Park.

All you have to do is download the geocaching app, use GPS to follow the coordinates and find hidden treasures.

Some of the new hidden gifts include BGPR swag. When you come to look for them, you’re supposed to bring something to leave behind. Holly Vincent with Parks and Rec says it’s fascinating to see people sign their names in the guestbook inside each geocache over the years. She said it’s a great way to get people outside.

“We were looking for things that people could come outside and do, especially with the pandemic we’ve seen a lot more people come into our parks. I have done geocaching since I was in college and I was like this is something really neat that we can do in our parks to kind of highlight the beauty that’s already here,” said Vincent.

Vincent said the geocache in Fort Webb Park has been there for over a decade.
