NEW DETAILS: Case involving fatal crash on Lovers Lane heading to grand jury

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A case involving a fatal crash on Lovers Lane that killed a Bowling Green woman is heading to a grand jury.

According to court records, Ryan Bagwell, 30, of White House, Tennessee appeared at the Warren District Court for a preliminary hearing on Monday.

During the hearing, court records say it was decided that the case is now heading to a grand jury.

Bagwell was identified as the driver in a fatal DUI crash that claimed the life of Ashley C. Porter, 40, of Bowling Green on July 24.

Porter was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say they determined Bagwell was traveling north on Lovers Lane when he drove into Porter’s lane as she was traveling south.

Bagwell was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs/substance, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of marijuana and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense.

Court records additionally show the DUI charge was amended to be Bagwell’s fourth offense rather than his third offense.

Bagwell remains at the Warren County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
