New Bowling Green City Commissioner to be sworn in Tuesday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A new face will be joining Bowling Green’s City Commission Tuesday afternoon.

Dana Beasley Brown will be sworn in, along with incumbents, Slim Nash, Joe Denning and Sue Parrigin.

Beasley Brown was the second highest vote-getter in last month’s election.

Beasley Brown is a Western Kentucky University graduate and has two children. She currently serves as the assistant coordinator in the youth services center at Bowling Green Junior High School.

Beasley Brown is hoping to accomplish a lot during her time as an elected leader in the city.

“I think it’s incredibly important in this moment of growth that we have a vision for the kind of city we want to leave our kids and grandkids and a strategic plan on how to get there,” said Beasley Brown. “I’d love to see us come together and talk about what we love about Bowling Green and what we want to protect as we grow.”

Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony will take place 4:00 p.m. at City Hall, followed by the commission’s regular meeting at 4:30 p.m.
