Nelson Co. man charged after chicken-fighting event discovered

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a Nelson County man after receiving a tip to a chicken-fighting event.

KSP Post 4 in Elizabethtown say it responded to Pottershop Road on Monday. Troopers and detectives say they located a chicken-fighting event was active.

The property owner, Aaron Thompson, 37, was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals – 2nd degree and cited to Nelson County District Court.

The investigation remains ongoing.
