Nearly 23,000 toys donated to Toys for Tots in south central Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The numbers are in for the 2019 Toys for Tots Program in south central Kentucky and they are impressive.

Because of your donations, nearly 7,500 children in 9 counties throughout the region received brand new toys this holiday season.

According to the local coordinator of Toys for Tots Janel Doyle, more children received gifts in 2019 than any other year.

In total, 22,979 toys were collected. Each child received an average of three toys.

Moreover, there were much larger toys donated in 2019 compared to years past, according to Doyle.

The majority of the toys were distributed to children in Warren County, followed by Hart, Logan and Butler counties.
