National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to take place April 26
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Local law enforcement in Warren County will be accepting discarded medications during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday.
According to a release by the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force, this day addresses the public health issue of prescription drugs left in cabinets.
Officials say the majority of opioid addictions in the United States originate with prescription pills found at home.
This initiative aims to prevent this by arranging proper disposal of these prescription drugs.
The take back day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations in Warren County:
- Bowling Green Police Department, 911 Kentucky St., operated by Drug Task Force and Bowling Green Police
- Kentucky State Police, Post 3 at 3119 Nashville Road, in Bowling Green
- Warren County Hazardous Waste Day, 999 Lauren Avery Drive, prescription drug take back operated by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office (Hours of operation 8AM until 1PM)
- Smiths Grove City Hall, 146 South Main St., Smiths Grove, KY, prescription drug take back operated by the Smiths Grove Police Department
- WKU Police Department, 1906 College Hights Blvd. Bowling Green, prescription drug take back operated by the WKU Police Department
Officials say this service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.
