National Corvette Museum’s welcomes interactive Hot Wheels exhibit

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -The National Corvette Museum is here but as you’ve never seen it before. Any and all Hot Wheels lovers can cruise into the NCM and check out the “Hot Wheels: Race to Win” exhibit.

Matelle partnered with The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis to create this traveling exhibit. While Thursday night was the perfect VIP gala, Friday opens up the exhibit for all.

NCM President & CEO Sharon Brawner said, “It couldn’t be any more fun to actually have an exhibit like this… Compete. Do all the things you loved to do and that you did as a child, and to do it as a family, or a school group or with your grandchildren, this is what coming to a museum really should feel like for anyone who wants to learn.”

The “Hot Wheels: Race to Win” exhibit may seem like all fun and games, but Brawner says it’s actually teaching engineering and science at the same time.

“You have speed, and velocity, and all of those other things that kids don’t even realize that’s what they’re learning. That’s when they learn the best,” remarked Brawner.

The fun is for all ages. Lexington’s Frank Hamilton knows that all too well. He’s collected Hot Wheels since the late 1990s.

“The thing I like most about Hot Wheels at this time is the social aspect. I have friends I made in ’98 that are still close friends,” said Hamilton. “My accumulation [of Hot Wheels] is probably 20,000…. And I still play with toy cars!”

Come and make a pit stop at the NCM, because the traveling exhibit is here throughout September before it’s on the road again.
