National Corvette Museum opens new sinkhole exhibit
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Ten years ago, The National Corvette Museum experienced a tragedy like no other.
A nearly 40-foot sinkhole ripped open the floor of their Skydome and swallowed eight rare and one-of-a-kind Corvettes. Now, the NCM has opened a new exhibit 10 years later showcasing the tragedy and triumph that came after the sinkhole.
On display are two cars that survived the fall into the hole and two that were completely buried and destroyed in the process.
Also on display are the milestones that the museum has hit since the fateful day in 2014, acknowledging all of the people who helped pick up the pieces and carry the museum into an era better than before.
