National Corvette Museum breaks ground on new collections facility

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The National Corvette Museum is expanding once again, but this time with a new 66,000-square-foot collections facility designed to preserve the legacy of America’s sports car.

Museum leaders and supporters broke ground Thursday morning on the project, which will provide additional space to store and showcase historic Corvettes, rare artifacts and memorabilia. The facility will also support the museum’s educational programs, and offer more behind-the-scenes experiences for members and visitors.

“We want to tell more stories,” said Bryce Burklow, president and CEO of the National Corvette Museum. “Everything that we try to do is educate people on the history and legacy of Corvette. This gives us 120 more opportunities to do that on day one, and with 30 years of growth, we’ll be able to have 240 cars in this space so we can tell more stories, talk about more engineering, and educate people on Corvette.”

The expansion will allow the museum to accept and display more rare and historically significant vehicles, showcasing Corvette’s design, innovation and racing history.

Michael LaRocca, chair-elect of the museum’s board, said the project represents a commitment to both the Corvette brand and the Bowling Green community.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” LaRocca said. “This museum’s a special place. … It’s really an honor to be able to support this expansion and fulfill the promise to stay dedicated to the Corvette, to the brand, to the community.”

The new collections facility is expected to open in the fall of 2026. For more information, click here.
