Natcher Elementary dedicates gym floor to Keith Stokes

For one physical education teacher in Bowling Green, this morning came as a surprise to him.

However for the community who came out to support, it was inevitable because of his impact on the kids and school.

An impact that will never be forgotten, long after he’s retired.

That’s why Keith Stokes received a surprise dedication with friends and students surrounding him in applause.

Stokes is most known for his role in coaching the Jumpin’ Jaguars jump rope team, which he started in 1996.

His competitive team has even been nationally recognized for their accomplishments in a variety of events.

To recognize his tireless efforts at Natcher Elementary and with Jumpin’ Jaguars, the gym floor was dedicated to him.

It’s now called "Keith Stokes Court."

Stokes will have his legacy felt in the place he pours his passion and love out to his students and jumpers.

Which is something he’s always proud to do.

Before today, Stokes has mentioned retirement to many friends and fellow staff.

However, he says he will continue to serve the kids in the community.

At the end of the day, he wants to see them all be the best they can be.

Congratulations again to you Stokes.
