Brush Fire

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – First responders battled a brush fire in Munfordville Thursday evening.

Munfordville Fire and Rescue responded to a brush fire in a wooded area near 219 Old Main Street.

MFR says crews located an active fire that had been ignited in a brush pile maintained by Roten Tree Service.

The fire was in a wooded line next to Clayton Station Apartments.

MFR says the fire was deeply seated in a pile consisting of mulch, brush, and sizable wood blocks.

Firefighters had limited engine access to the fire and 250 feet of hand-laid hose was deployed into the woods to reach the fire.

Roten Tree Service was contacted and assisted MFR in containing the fire.

A fire tanker malfunctioned during the attack due to ice accumulation. The tanker was out of service.

No injuries have been reported.

The fire was contained to the area.
