Multiple counties chosen for election audit, includes Warren Co.

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The election process is over for many of us across the state except a few counties, which have been chosen to be audited by the Attorney General’s office.

Warren, Barren, Metcalfe, Edmonson, Calloway, Jefferson, Daviess, Jessamine, Boyle, Campbell, Lincoln and Trigg counties have been chosen at random for an audit by the Attorney General’s office, and while and audit can sound scary, these audits happen every election cycle and are a normal process that ensures that everything runs smoothly and Kentucky’s election integrity stays intact.

The audit is similar to what the clerk’s office does usually, just a deeper look to ensure Kentucky elections continue to flow smoothly.

“After every election, every county clerk turns in all the results, everything. Any findings from our reports, things like that. To the grand jury for review. So it’s very similar to that, but it’s, you know, a little they do a little deeper dive into some of the election questions. They may talk to election officers, that may talk to our board. Things like that, just to review some things,” Warren County clerk Lynette Yates said.

The results of the audit wont be completed for a few months. Yates says if you have any questions about voting, you can call the Warren County Clerk’s Office at 270-842-9416.
