Multiple local Christmas parades cancelled for 2020

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Many Christmas parades in South Central Kentucky are cancelled for 2020, but there are other events going on to light up your holiday.

While residents were looking forward to some Christmas fun outside, the parades are just not happening in Bowling Green, Glasgow, Smith Grove or Auburn.

But, Downtown Lights Up and the City Hall Christmas Open House are still on, according to the Bowling Green city public information officer Kim Lancaster.

The events will be scaled down this year due to COVID-19 and they will be in the form of drive ins or drive thrus.

Santa will also make a loop of Fountain Square Park and Circus Square Park at about 6 p.m. Dec. 4.
