Multiple fire departments, emergency services respond to I-65 crash with entrapment

BOWLING GREEN, Ky – Multiple fire departments responded to a crash Saturday.

The Warren County Fire Department System states that the Bowling Green Fire Department, the Cave City Fire Department, Park City Fire Department, Smiths Grove Fire Department, and Warren County Fire Department respond to a single-vehicle accident with entrapment on I-65 Northbound at the 42.6 mile marker.

According to a release, witnesses told Smiths Grove Rescue 30 that a passenger car left the roadway and rolled multiple times.

Good Samaritans stopped to assist the individuals in the car until first responders arrived at the scene.

Fire units arrived and performed an extrication on the passenger side door of the car. One of the individuals was freed from the vehicle.

Medical Center EMS and Barren-Metcalfe provided care and transported one of the individuals to a local hospital.

The second individual was flown to a regional trauma center.

The investigation is ongoing.
