Multiple arrested after drug bust during Bowling Green traffic stop
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Three people are facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Bowling Green.
According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle traveling on Veterans Memorial Lane before turning onto Gordon Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities say the vehicle did not have its rear license plate illuminated, and its windshield was severely shattered.
Deputies say they made contact with the driver, 29-year-old Scottie Warner Jr. of Greenville, Kentucky, and a passenger, identified as 24-year-old Stacy Brown of Bowling Green, who owns the vehicle.
Deputies say the backseat passenger was identified as 18-year-old Nayana Chumley of Central City.
According to the sheriff’s office, a K9 gave a positive alert on the vehicle.
Authorities say during the search, they located about 22.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine, multiple pipes with residue and a bong.
Brown is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), while Chumley faces charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
Warner Jr. is charged with rear license not illuminated, obstructed vision and/or windshield, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance/security, first offense, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine).
