BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – Multiple agencies brought several brush fires under control over the weekend in Butler County.

The Fourth District Fire Department says its crews were dispatched to 11631 Brownsville Road for reports of multiple brush fires.

Upon arrival, units found three separate fires, all within almost two miles of each other, officials say. Due to the size and spread of the fires, mutual aid was requested from county departments and surrounding counties.

Officials say the largest fire was an estimated 20 acres, with crew remaining on scene alongside the Kentucky Division of Forestry.

Multiple departments provided assistance, including Morgantown Fire Department, Second District Fire, Rochester Fire, Fifth District Fire, Bear Creek Fire, Caneyville Fire and Cromwell Fire, along with Butler County Rescue Squad, who provided traffic control.

The department reminds the community that burning between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. is prohibited.
